Opening roads after a two-day storm that dropped heavy snow and ice across Roanoke is nobody’s idea of an easy job. The City of Roanoke deployed 44 plows and 180 employees working in 12-hour shifts around the clock. Snow fighter crews spread over 600 tons of salt and 30,000 gallons of brine.
