Gaenslen’s test evaluates the sacroiliac joint as a cause of pain. The examiner passively flexes the asymptomatic hip and knee toward the chest, which the patient then holds in place with their hands. The symptomatic leg is allowed to hang off the table into hyperextension, creating a stretch across the hip region. The examiner applies a posterior force to the hyperextended limb. The test is considered positive when this maneuver reproduces the patient’s pain. Sensitivity 50-53%, specificity 71-
