Composer Gustav Holst was born #OnThisDay in 1874. He is best known for his orchestral suite 'The Planets', each movement of the suite is named after a planet of the Solar System and its corresponding astrological character as defined by Holst. Back in 2016, we surprised our visitors with excerpts of Mars and Jupiter from Holst’s The Planets, performed by the Royal College of Music, as a vivid demonstration of how music has the power to unite art and science. | Science Museum
