What do our sea turtle patients eat? Green sea turtles are primarily herbivorous, eating seaweeds and seagrasses in their natural habitat. Here in our hospital, they receive greens, like lettuce, cucumbers, and green peppers, along with a mixture of vitamins, vegetables, and some seafood. Loggerheads are carnivorous, feeding off hard-shelled animals in the ocean. Here, they are fed restaurant-quality herring, mackerel, shrimp, and squid, with vitamin supplements hidden in food. #georgiaseaturtle
