Sep 25, 2022 · First step is to try to open the exe with winrar (or maybe 7zip). That step is pretty huge in determining what you can do. If it's not openable, then your options are a decompiler (it would get decompiled to assembly) or a hex editor. The hex editor process will be painful.

Absolutely, I agree. But, when I started working with Intel Hex files, versus a straight up bin, and then wanting to check custom structures, etc. - then, like the OP, I was also in search of another editor. I came across 'Hex Editor Neo' that has paid/free versions. It has a lot of different features. Might be worth checking out.

May 8, 2021 · If they went into all the trouble of storing customer data in the .exe file, they also likely added basic obfuscation of that data and/or protections from it being wiped out. That's assuming that this game is in fact pulling this info from its own executable file and not from some registry key or a license file.

They have a stupid process called ROUTERAPPLICATION.EXE that crashes on exit these days.

Feb 23, 2023 · The other two spots to change the name are in the RMG editor with Template Settings and Template Pack Settings. Modify those to be unique values and see if you can get something to look different. That should point you in the right direction.
