The Indefensible Position (Geddy Lee Steinberger Content)
Mar 9, 2005 · This was the show where Geddy was playing the Steinberger. For years I associated Geddy with a 4001. I dig what he's done with his Fenders on recordings recently, although I think he goes too far with the overdrive on all of the recent live concerts I've seen. To me, the Steinberger tone he got was his best live tone ever. Fie, I know.
Geddy lee USA vs American original 70s - TalkBass.com
Sep 23, 2018 · I really like the ivory binding and maple neck of the Geddy Lee much better than the dark colored neck of my pro jazz. I don't think anyone, ever, can go wrong with any US jazz though. Geddy Lee's bass isn't built any better than any other USA Fender bass, just check out which one fits you better and buy it. I hope this helps somewhat. Cheers!
What type of strings does Geddy lee use? | TalkBass.com
Aug 7, 2007 · I used the Funkmasters for a short time when Geddy used them because. At the time I figured "if they're good enough for Geddy and he gets that sound out of them.." Well, that lasted a few months until I got tired of them always breaking right where the exposed core met my bridge ( a bur free, well set up bridge).
Geddy Lee and slap bass - TalkBass.com
Feb 23, 2007 · I got the new Rush album Snakes and Arrows the other day, and it is a real treat to listen to. Something struck me though. On the instrumental Malignant Narcissism Geddy does a very fast, although brief slap solo. This was about the speed that Claypool does the solo from Laquerhead. Anyone have other Geddy Lee slap lines.
Pickups in early model Geddy Lee Jazz Bass - TalkBass.com
Feb 29, 2012 · The output is about half of what the output is in my Geddy Lee Jazz. When I switch from the CV Jazz with the Fender original Jazz Bass pickups to the Geddy Lee Jazz Bass, I have to employ the -14 DB pads on my amps or the GL bass is overpowering the signal. I want the CV Jazz to be that loud so they are even in volume.
Geddy Lee Jazz - Japan/Mexico Differences? - TalkBass.com
Jul 9, 2009 · I quickly found a CIJ Geddy, and played the heck out of it for 3 years. It was one of the best Basses I ever owned. I started playing an older 4001, and traded the CIJ Geddy for a Stingray, but missed the Geddy. I picked up a MIM Geddy a year ago, played it for a couple months, and traded it for a '64 Bassman Head.
Geddy Lee amps - TalkBass.com
Apr 11, 2009 · Lee's amps in the early days were arena-ready Sunn and/or Ampeg models. By 2112, he was using two Ampeg SVTs, one which ran into 2 Sunn 215 cabs, and one which ran into 2 Ampeg V4b 215 cabs. For Hemispheres, his backline had evolved into a configuration of Ashly preamps, BGW power amps, Ampeg V4b cabinets, and Thiele design cabinets which …
What is Geddy Lee's level of musical education? - TalkBass.com
May 27, 2015 · Jack Bruce had much more formal training than Geddy Lee did. I'm not sure Geddy even graduated high school. He was born in 1953, Rush started playing professionally in 1969.
Geddy Lee - Great Bassist - Bad Technique - TalkBass.com
Aug 3, 2011 · Further, Geddy was having a bad vocal night and compensated by overplaying on every song in the first half of the show. Geddy does have terrible technique, but he is an awesome player. Ripping on Geddy's technique is like ripping on Hendrix for his.
Geddy Lee's onstage appliances - TalkBass.com
Jun 2, 2006 · The guys in Rush have always had a good sense of humor, so Geddy is pretty much making fun of himself for having had so many giant amp stacks behind him in previous tours. These days he goes straight from his pre-amp setup to the House PA, using in ear monitors to hear himself.
