Search and rescue operations continue across Texas’ Hill Country days after a 20-foot "deadly flood wave" rushed down the Guadalupe River, decimating communities and leaving at least 82 people dead with dozens still missing.

The death toll rose to 79 people across six counties today following flash floods in Texas. In Kerr County, officials reported 68 deaths — 40 adults and 28 children. NBC News' Ryan Chandler reports the latest.

The death toll from flash floods that raged through central Texas has topped 80. The chance of life-threatening flooding was still high in central Texas.

Several organizations are accepting donations for those impacted by the floods, as well as first responders and volunteers.

In Kerr County, home to youth camps in the Texas Hill Country, searchers have found the bodies of 68 people, including 28 children, Sheriff Larry Leitha said Sunday afternoon. Fatalities in nearby counties brought the total number of deaths to 79 as of Sunday evening.
