The Army’s Criminal Investigation Division’s Carolinas Field Office is offering a $10,000 reward for a bunch of stolen HMMWV, better known as Humvee, doors.
The boxy Humvee is powered by a 6.5-liter turbodiesel V8 engine instead of the naturally aspirated diesel usually planted into Humvees. The V8 is rated at 190 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque.
The High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle – known as a Humvee – was “used as a battering ram to break through the gates” when it was driven out of the Santa Rosa armory late Monday.
