Detroit police said the public can expect an increased presence downtown Saturday for the Lions -Commanders game, the Pistons game and the Detroit Auto Show. "We're excited," Detroit Police Cmdr. Matthew Fulgenzi of the Third Precinct said in a Friday media briefing at the department's headquarters. "We have a lot going on downtown tomorrow."

The Phoenix Suns received some good and bad news on their injury report for tomorrow's game against the Detroit Pistons. Star guard Bradley Beal (left ankle sprain) is doubtful and in jeopardy of missing his second-straight contest after suffering the injury in Tuesday's loss to the Atlanta Hawks.

In the Pistons' win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Jan. 6, Hardaway helped Detroit avoid an embarrassing defeat by scoring 11 of his 26 points in the final period. His play down the stretch was similar to his performance against the Miami Heat on Dec. 16. He scored nine points in overtime, which led to the Pistons' 125-124 victory. Grade: B -

The game was Minnesota’s first at New York since the Knicks acquired Towns from the Timberwolves and sent Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo to Minnesota just after training camps opened. The Knicks won at Minnesota last month.
