Convicted kidnapper and rapist Matthew Muller was sentenced on additional assault charges after the Vallejo woman he raped in 2015 helped investigators discover other crimes that took place in 2009.

Muller pleaded guilty to nighttime attacks in Mountain View and Palo Alto reported in 2009, six years before a notorious Vallejo kidnapping that inspired prolific true-crime media attention.

Matthew Muller, already serving a 40-year federal prison sentence for the 2015 kidnapping and sexual assault of Denise Huskins, will now also serve two consecutive life sentences -- added on for two home invasion sexual assaults that occurred in the South Bay in 2009.
