North Carolina Democrat Don Davis announced Monday that he would run for a third term from his redrawn 1st District.

To appear on the ballot, those wanting to run must submit a notice of candidacy and pay a required filing fee (which varies by office). They must file with the appropriate elections board office. The filing period opens at noon Monday and closes at noon Dec. 19, according to the North Carolina State Board of Elections website.
