NHL update: the Minnesota Wild are scoreless early versus the Seattle Kraken; the Edmonton Oilers face unexpected challenges against the Anaheim Ducks.
Wild goaltender Filip Gustavsson had a big effort in net, stopping 33-of-36 shots and outdueling Kraken goalie Joey Daccord, who had 15 saves on 19 shots. The Wild return to action Friday night when they visit the Vancouver Canucks for a 9 p.m. puck drop.
Matty Beniers recorded his first multi-point game since Jan. 2, Philipp Grubauer earned his first win since Dec. 30 and the Seattle Kraken beat the Flyers 4-1.
They started March with wins against the Boston Bruins and the Seattle Kraken. Minnesota’s last two wins have been a major relief because it had only managed to win one out of four games after returning from the 4 Nations tournament.
We had a great 30 minutes and a bad 30 minutes, and then fortunately we get the two points,” said Mats Zuccarello.
