Tanner McKee is getting the start at quarterback for the Eagles in a relatively meaningless Week 18 game against the Giants.

The Detroit Lions entered the 2024 NFL season knowing this would likely be their best chance to win a Super Bowl. Despite a myriad of injuries on both sides of the ball, the Lions are one of the best NFL teams in 2024 but they are reportedly fearful of what’s on the horizon.

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell had a very appropriate reaction to finding out that the Philadelphia Eagles lost to the Commanders.

Eagles punter Braden Mann has struggled on kickoffs the last month, including against the Giants. Mann’s second kickoff on Sunday went out of bounds, allowing the Giants to start at their 40. Three weeks ago, Mann’s kicks averaged 55 yards against the Commanders, so they went to about the 10-yard line each time.

The candidates are the Los Angeles Rams, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Vikings and the Detroit Lions. The latter two teams play Sunday to decide the NFC North title and the No. 1 seed in the conference. The loser will fall to the five seed.

The NFC No. 1 seed will be decided in Week 18 and it is a two-horse race between the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings. Just to make it juicier, the two teams face off on Sunday Night Football to decide who will get Wild Card Weekend off and secure home-field advantage for as long as they are in the playoffs.

With the Commanders holding on to win, 36-33, the Eagles' winning streak was snapped, and they fell to 12-3. As a result, the Lions will have a chance to eliminate the Eagles from the running for the NFC's No. 1 seed next week.
