Athens-based author and illustrator James Dean's latest book, "Pete the Cat Screams for Ice Cream," was released on June 4.

Dean drew a cartoon of Pete and turned the character into a book series. According to the Pete the Cat series website , Dean published his first book, The Misadventures of Pete the Cat, in 2006.
