Texas authorities said Tuesday 87 people died in Kerr County as a result of catastrophic flooding along the Guadalupe River on the Fourth of July. Five girls and a counselor from Camp Mystic remain missing, the officials said.

The Texas Hill Country floods have resulted in at least 104 deaths, with Kerr County facing significant loss and challenges in emergency response and communication.

The death toll in the central Texas floods has risen to over 100. Officials say the majority of the deaths were in Kerr County. Search and recovery crews there are working through masses of downed trees and other debris.
