Authorities closed State Route 2 between Cedar Springs, 3.3 miles east of Newcomb’s Ranch, and State Route 138 on Christmas Eve, according to the California Department of Transportation.

Two juveniles were arrested Thursday afternoon after a brief police pursuit involving a stolen vehicle ended in a crash near Highway 80 and Valley Street, authorities said. According to Capitol Police, officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop around 4:24 p.m. after spotting a vehicle matching the description of a reported stolen car.
