A Houston man has been arrested after allegedly plotting a terrorist attack in the United States that he hoped would be similar to Sept. 11.

HOUSTON, Texas – New video has surfaced showing the moment the 28-year-old Houston man who was trying to join and carry out attacks for the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS). Anas Said was arrested and charged last week with attempting to provide material support to ISIS, a designated foreign terrorist organization.

Federal authorities say they stopped a Texas man from carrying out a possible terrorist attack in Houston. 28-year-old Anas Said was charged with attempting to provide support to ISIS. The FBI says he bragged that he would commit “a 9/11 style” attack if he had the resources.

The FBI announced on Thursday the arrest of a Texas man who allegedly created and disseminated ISIS propaganda and wanted to commit a “9/11-style” attack in the United States.

A major "9/11 style" terrorist attack, possibly in Houston, was averted with the arrest of a local Houston man who was allegedly plotting with ISIS to attack America, U.S. Attorney's Office in the Southern District of Texas announced Thursday.

A 28-year-old man in Houston, Anas Said, has been indicted and arrested on charges he attempted to provide material support to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS), a federally designated foreign terrorist organization (FTO).

The FBI said the 28-year-old man admitted to bragging that he would commit a "9/11-style" attack if he had the resources.

Anas Said admitted to planning the terror attack from his far west Houston apartment, FBI officials said. He's also accused of attempting to provide "material support" to ISIS.
