Clark County elections officials discovered more than 1,600 uncounted mail-in ballots Thursday, more than a week after Election Day, a spokesperson said.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Clark County said they found over 1,500 mail ballots not yet tabulated ahead of certification. The county says 1,608 ballots were timely received, secured and processed. As of a release sent at 11:47 a.m. Friday, the county says they were tabulated and counted.

Clark County elections officials discovered more than 1,600 mail ballots that hadn’t been tabulated for the Nov. 5 election, the county announced Friday. The ballots were found Thursday during preparation for a canvass of the election that was required to take place Friday.

In a Friday letter sent to Secretary of State Cisco Aguilar, the county said the votes were stuck in the “duplication stage” of the counting process, but have now been counted and were always under county control.
