CLEVELAND, Ohio — Northeast Ohio is in for a prolonged bout of lake effect snow and plummeting temperatures as we head into the New Year. A winter weather advisory remains in effect for Cuyahoga County through Thursday morning, while lake effect snow warnings are still active in Lake, Geauga, and Ashtabula counties.
Ashtabula and Lake counties can expect up to 15 inches of snow, while Geauga can expect 8 to 12 inches. Wind gusts could reach 40 mph through Tuesday evening. The initial round of lake effect snow is expected to drop 2 inches. But much more is expected Tuesday evening into Thursday morning.
