Steven Gerrard will remain manager of Al-Ettifaq despite the club making major changes to their coaching and technical staff.

Steven Gerrard has hit a new low in Saudi Arabia as his Al-Ettifaq team suffered another defeat on Friday night. Gerrard took the reins at Al-Ettifaq in the summer of 2023, guiding them to a respectable sixth place finish in the Saudi Pro League last season.

Al-Ettifaq's latest defeat had left Steven Gerrard's side lying 12th in the 18-team Saudi Pro League heading into the international break, raising further doubts over Gerrard's future.

According to GiveMeSport, assistant manager Dean Holden and sporting director Mark Allen have both left the club by mutual consent. Holden, 45, joined Gerrard in February this year after being sacked by Charlton, having previously had stints in charge of Oldham and Bristol City.
