The traditional drum beating ceremony in recent history after the reign of ancient Sinhala kings was held at Anuradhapura Ruwanweliseya Cheithiya last morning. A group of 510 drummers participated.

The 80-year-old Chuda Manikya (Crest Gem) on the pinnacle of the Ruwanweliseya Cheithiya in Anuradhapura was enshrined in a shrine room in the Ruwanweliseya temple on Thursday night (18).
