BATON ROUGE, La. – In its final non-conference bout before opening up Southeastern Conference action, the fifth-ranked LSU women’s basketball team defeated Alabama State, 109-41, Sunday afternoon inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

A pair of frontcourt players led LSU back over the 100-point mark. Freshman Grace Knox scored a career-high 25 points on 10-of-18 shooting and grabbed 12 rebounds. Senior East Carolina transfer Amiya Joyner notched 14 points and 11 boards to post her fourth double-double of the season.

Kate Koval scored a season-high 23 points and collected 11 rebounds to spark No. 5 LSU to a 109-41 victory over Alabama State on Sunday in the nonconference finale for both teams.

LSU women's basketball continues to roll. The Tigers are 12-0 after an emphatic victory over UT-Arlington on Sunday.

LSU leads the nation in points per game (107.9), average margin of victory (54.4), field-goal percentage (55%) and offensive rebounding rate (56%). Only one Division I team is grabbing more boards per contest than the Tigers (51.1), who also rank fourth nationally in 3-point percentage (40%) and fifth in steals per game (15.5).
