It’s not surprising that a big chunk of games announced for Switch 2 so far are ports of older titles. The original Switch got plenty of ports during its run, but most AAA games were chopped up and squished onto the aging hardware, resulting in some really ugly conversions.
If you already own Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time for Switch, you’ll be able to buy the upgrade pack for $2.59 on June 5th. There will also be a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of the game for sale on the Nintendo eShop, but its price hasn’t been announced.
Now, the company is trying to do it again with the Switch 2. Ahead of the new console’s launch on June 5th, The Verge is looking back at the various ways that Nintendo has changed over the last eight years and how those changes might continue into its next generation.
On Wednesday, Pokémon Company International finally revealed that Pokémon Legends: Z-A would be released on Oct. 16, 2025, for the Switch and Switch 2. Along with the announcement, the company showed off the box art for the forthcoming title, with many Pokémon and Nintendo fans agreeing that the cover illustration was fire.
The big N has joined Sony and Microsoft as an official Summer Games Fest partner, sparking hopes for a big game reveal for the Switch 2.
Arguably the most useful addition is the revamped screenshots and video upload feature, which allows you to link your phone to your Switch 2 and wirelessly upload in-game media to the app, either manually or automatically.
