Jason Momoa is bringing the DC Comics character Lobo to life in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, and DC Studios' co-head James Gunn is teasing his performance.

Momoa texting Gunn as soon as possible to pitch himself as Lobo shouldn’t come as a surprise to fans of the actor, who has spoken publicly in the past about his desire to play the alien bounty hunter in a live-action DC project.

On Monday, Gunn took to X (formerly Twitter) to pay tribute to Lobo, a villainous, extraterrestrial bounty hunter who made his DC Comics debut in Omega Men Issue #3 and who will make his DCU debut next year in Craig Gillespie’s Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Momoa, of course, will be playing the role—which now seems somehow predestined.
