Despite the lake's pristine character, Crescent Lake is a top spot in the Deschutes National Forest for swimming, sailing, fishing, windsurfing, and even water skiing!

Willamette Pass has a decent downhill ski area by that name, lots of state sno-parks, U.S. Forest Service cross-county ski and groomed snowmobile trails, sledding hills and beautiful winter scenery.

Turn right at signs for Crescent Lake and follow FSR 60 for 7.2 miles around the north side of the reservoir. Then turn onto rough and rutted FSR 6010 for 6.5 miles to Summit Lake Campground.
