We heard from a reliable source that during a recent late night excursion to the Atlantic Avenue Tunnel area, a 19th century LIRR steam locomotive was discovered.

A new study shows that there is a 20-foot metallic structure in the sealed off section of the Atlantic Avenue Tunnel, and it could be that 19th Century locomotive!

Auctioneer Adam Jokisch says 35 locomotives sold for anywhere from $10,000 to $15,000 to upward of $200,000 apiece on Tuesday. Jokisch declined to provide an auction total.
