The KanKouran West African Dance Company’s show Saturday honors Melvin Deal and Charles “Chuck” Davis, two early teachers and performers of African dance in the District.

A company of dancers from across Africa perform Bausch’s canonical work around the world. “I’ve always felt that this was an African dance,” said Germaine Acogny.
