Thomas Detry is a name that fills the covers of golf magazines in recent weeks, after celebrating at the WM Phoenix Open. Although few expected that this 31-year-old Belgian would celebrate in fierce competition next to names like Scottie Scheffler, Hideki Matsuyama and others, the 31-year-old looked impressive and made a great result.

Being in contention had always put Thomas Detry on fast-forward. His heart raced and his mind looked ahead instead of focusing on the moment. Knowing what was at stake, the Belgian took steps to calm his nerves by meditating and taking an ice bath before each of his final two rounds at raucous TPC Scottsdale.

Detry, in his 67th Tour start, finished at 24 under, topping Daniel Berger and Michael Kim by seven strokes for his maiden PGA Tour victory.
