President Donald Trump unveiled the first in a wave of promised letters that threaten to impose higher tariffs rates on key trading partners, including levies of 25% on goods from Japan and South Korea beginning Aug.

President Donald Trump sent out a flurry of letters to U.S. trading partners threatening to raise their tariffs on Aug. 1 if they do not remove trade barriers. Here is how high he is setting import taxes for each country.

The letters listed a range of tariffs. Goods entering the U.S. from Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, and Tunisia will be subject to a 25 percent levy. There will be a 30 percent levy on South African and Bosnian goods, while imports from Indonesia will be subject to a 32 percent rate.
