The ingredients fueling our local Red Flag Warning includes persistent moderate to severe drought conditions, lack of rain in the short-term, low relative humidity, breezy north winds (gusting up to 30 mph),

"Conditions will remain ripe for developing wildfires through at least Saturday thanks to a stiff northwest breeze and low relative humidity," the NWS said.

We are seeing a late surge in brush fires across the state due to extremely dry conditions. Friday's gusty winds are only adding to the danger.
