Shane Smith, the 25-year-old righthanded rookie pitcher from Danvers, has made history for the Chicago White Sox by being named to the American League roster for the All-Star Game July 15 in Atlanta.

Chicago White Sox pitcher Shane Smith is headed to the MLB All-Star Game for the first time in his career. Smith, who made his MLB debut earlier this season, has made 16 starts for the White Sox, striking out 74 batters in 79.1 innings while posting an ERA of 3.86 for the South Siders.

Major League Baseball announced starters for the 2025 All-Star Game on Wednesday, and the American League team did not feature any members of the Chicago White Sox.
