Video shows a scaffolding plank falling inches from a person walking into Boston's South Station last week. No one was hurt in the incident Friday, involving a piece what the Boston Inspectional Services Department called rigging gear that fell from One Financial, a skyscraper across the street from South Station.

A potentially serious incident was narrowly averted in Boston when a scaffold plank unexpectedly dropped from a 46-floor skyscraper last Friday. The plank missed pedestrians by mere moments as they commuted through South Station,
