Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, arrested for trespassing at a federal immigration facility last week, compared his confrontation with federal authorities to the biblical King David's trials.

Worcester City Council moved to Zoom citing "public safety concerns," which residents criticized in a rocky remote meeting Tuesday night.

The contrast between ICE officers in camouflage fatigues and the “nice old ladies” protesting outside the immigrant detention center might have been comic if not for the guns and plastic wrist cuffs the officers carried and the violent confrontation between Newark Police and other demonstrators the night before.

Tricia McLaughlin, assistant secretary for public affairs at DHS, addressed the incident in a CNN appearance on Saturday.

The Trump administration warned three Democratic lawmakers Saturday that arrests are “on the table” after they participated in a protest at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Newark, where the city’s Mayor Ras Baraka was collared.
