You could spend anywhere from 1 hour to 3 or 4. There's a lot to see and you can enjoy snacks/eats with your family too (they have things available).

Yes, there are hands-on activities kids of this age would enjoy, especially the dinosaurs and other animals. You might not be able to go through the whole museum with 5 and 7 year olds, however, as it takes adults HOURS to see the whole thing.
