The place itself is a 5/5 but the imposition of the tour with a guide makes the experience too controlled and time demanding. The guide, a member of the local indigenous community, was great. Nothing…Full review by cazaresil

This is a silly question. You haven't indicated what your budget is nor what type of accommodation you like to stay in. I could recommend something expensive when you want something cheaper, are you staying for one night or a week. Suggest you look at travel/hotel web site typing in what you want to the area you want and see what comes up.

Our son is 16 and walks with crutches. He is very active and gets along just fine everywhere we go. What is the hike like to the laguna? Is it rocky, uneven or muddy terrain? Is it slippery? Thanks everyone.
A:
Yes, the path is inclined and an be very slippery if it has rained, if he wants to go he must do it very carefully and slowly.

So, I want to visit Guatavita. My husband's family lives in Bogota so they can get us there. My question is when is it open (last time we tried and and it had weird days that you couldn't visit). Also, is it possible to combine with a Day trip to the Salt Cathedral? It looks like from these posts that it is.
A:
I think the salt cathedral and surrounding pueblo deserve a day in it self. It is a really cool little place. Also I advise early morning trips to Guatavita as sometimes it shuts as early as 4 pm.
