What are the best towns or areas to see Mount Etna from a distance on the eastern side in February? I don't have time to travel up the mountain roads and back.

Catania, and Taormina both have views. You can see it from afar. I just went up there lat week. It’s just fine to view it from far away. Not much to see really. It is smoking a bit.
